Supporters Who Recommend A NO 1 Vote for Paddy Healy

” You have to hand it to Paddy Healy who appears to be leading the fight for academic freedom, now under threat from the Croke Park Agreement and the Hunt Report.
Healy, the former TUI president and future Seanad candidate, secured over 150 signatories to a protest letter in this newspaper. The signatories included TCD academic Hugh Gibbons, president of the “rival” Irish Federation of University Teachers.
Healy also organised Saturday’s well-attended protest meeting in the Gresham Hotel in Dublin”.Sean Flynn, Irish Times Jan 11

I wish to add my name to the list people advocating a No. 1 vote for Paddy Healy in the Seanad election 2011, National University of Ireland constituency.

The EU/IMF deal, the bailouts of the banks and austerity measures are set to destroy public services and will make the economic situation worse. Electing campaigners to the Oireachtas with a principled opposition to neo-liberal austerity measures can greatly assist the campaigns against cuts that are ahead of us. On this basis, workers (private & public sector), the unemployed and students that have a vote in this election should vote #1 Paddy Healy.

Oisín Kelly – UCD Students’ Union Education Officer 2003-2004.
